Fossils To Fuel
Fossils to Fuel is a hands-on, science program to help students learn about energy sources, the formation of oil and natural gas, and sound waves. These eight lessons also teach the engineering behind producing and using oil and natural gas in our everyday lives.
Each class that completes the Fossils to Fuel curriculum will receive a free field trip from the OERB to one of nine participating museums. Students will see an exciting energy exhibit sponsored by the OERB or be treated to a free energy class at the museum.
Developed by Oklahoma elementary and middle school educators, university specialists, geologists and OERB representatives, Fossils to Fuel meets the state standards. The curriculum provides everything a teacher needs, including a free teacher's guide and activity kit.
To acquire the Fossils to Fuel curriculum, teachers must attend a day-long workshop. The workshops are free, and educators receive a $50 stipend for attending. Educators completing the workshop receive six (6) Professional Development hours.
