Our Curriculum
Petro Active

For 6th-8th Grade Students

Petro Active teaches middle school students about the formation and recovery of oil and natural gas and includes classroom energy experiments.  In seven lessons, Petro Active covers science topics such as geologic timescales and processes,  wavelength, amplitude, frequency, distillation, seismology and conservation.

This curriculum was written by Oklahoma educators with help from industry experts. Petro Active meets Oklahoma Academic Standards for Science, Math and English/Language Arts. Educators receive free training, a teacher’s guide and an activity kit.

Start teaching the Petro Active curriculum 

To acquire the Petro Active curriculum, teachers must attend a day-long professional development workshop. The workshops are free, and educators receive a $100 stipend for attending. Educators completing the workshop receive seven (7) Professional Development hours.
